A memorial service for Mrs. Carolyn Hendrix Wilkes will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with the Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilkes, age 78, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013. She was a resident of West Monroe, formerly of Bastrop. Mrs. Wilkes was a retired school bus driver and a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, traveling and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ellis Hendrix Sr.; son, Ellis Hendrix Jr.; father, J.B. Morrow; mother, Virginia Morrow; brother, Charles Morrow; and step-mother, Jeanette Morrow.
Mrs. Wilkes is survived by her husband, Joe Wilkes of West Monroe; three daughters, Virginia Hendrix Grabowski and husband Chris of Columbia, SC, Marsha Hendrix Farrar and husband Jimmy of Collinston and Paula Hendrix Berryman and husband Martin of Dallas, Texas; son, Robert Hendrix and wife Sue of West Monroe; two step-sons, Bo Wilkes and wife Tina of West Monroe and Ken Wilkes of Shreveport; nine grandchildren, Eric Hendrix, Linda Williams and husband Perry, Chad Hendrix and wife Shelley, Jamie Frasier, Jessica Morrison and husband Patrick, Heather Lyles and husband Brian, Tabatha Barrentine and husband Casey, Randi Brooks and husband Dustin and Conner Wilkes; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
