A private memorial for Bonnie G. Crowe, 85, formerly of Bastrop and Mer Rouge, most recently living in Crystal River, Fla. will be held in Florida and a celebration of life will be planned for friends and family in Bastrop at a later date.
Ms. Crowe passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 under the care of Hospice of Citrus and Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River, Fla.
She was born on December 22, 1927 in Wilmot, Ark. to the late James and Carrie (Johnson) Ginn. After graduating from Louisiana Tech University, she had many careers in her life including banker, teacher, caregiver and homemaker but enjoyed being with and caring for other people most. She was a Baptist, living most of her life in Bastrop and Mer Rouge. She loved socializing, traveling, cooking, watching football especially the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers and enjoying life. She made her last trip in September to Florida to be closer to her children, grandchildren and great children.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas J. Crowe, and one sister, Carolyn Ginn. Left to cherish many loving memories are one son, Michael Crowe of Land O’Lakes, Fla.; one daughter, Jeanne Obedzinski of Crystal River, Fla.; and one brother, James Ginn of Bastrop; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous children who thought of her as Granny.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her honor be sent to Premier Hospice at 1513 Texas Avenue, Bastrop, LA 71220 who, along with the wonderful staff at Lagniappe Healthcare took such amazing care of her and her sister Carolyn.
