Sterlington 60, Atlanta 58

ATLANTA — Kyle Henderson produced 32 points and hit three decisive free throws as Sterlington turned back Atlanta 60-58.

Hacked in the act of attempting a go-ahead 3-pointer, Henderson made all three free shots to give the visiting Panthers a 60-58 lead with time winding down.

Moments later, Henderson snared the rebound after the Bulldogs missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer.

In a game that was close from the opening whistle, Atlanta received seven points from Kenny Sapp while opening up an 18-17 first quarter lead.

With Henderson (11) and Kaden Key (5) combining for all 16 second quarter points, the Panthers went ahead 33-30 at halftime.

Atlanta crept within 46-44 at the end of the third quarter behind 3-spots from Tony Pine and Johnny Nash.

Reid Handy and Mike Givens both nailed 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to help the Panthers (17-2) hold off the Bulldogs.

Henderson was joined in the Sterlington scoring by Handy with 10, Key with eight and Givens and Chance Carter with five apiece.

Nash set the standard for Atlanta (16-12) with 13 points, Kenny Sapp netted all 12 of his points in the first half and Michael Blade buried two fourth quarter treys to finish with 11. Pine chipped in nine, Cory Hickman six, Derrick Booker four and Darnell Sapp three.
