West Ouachita 61, Beekman 36

Dakota Gasca fired in six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points as West Ouachita defeated Beekman 61-36 Friday morning at the Sterlington Shootout.

Gasca came out sizzling, filling the net with a trio of trifectas as the Chiefs raced to a 20-9 first quarter lead.

Continuing the 3-point barrage in the second frame, Gasca and Tobias Owens both zapped a pair of long range shots, enabling West Ouachita to take a 40-24 edge into intermission.

Beekman outscored the Chiefs 11-10 in the third quarter behind six points from Jaquinten Killian, but trailed 41-28 heading into the final quarter.

Gasca was complemented by Owens with 14 points and Reid Guirlando with 13. Also scoring for West Ouachita (7-12) were Tanner Wise and Devan Butler with four, and D'Andre Jackson and Harrison May with two.

Exploiting Seay's absence, the Chiefs outscored the Tigers 24-0 from beyond the 3-point arch.
