2018 Bass Pro Shops FLW High School Fishing Toledo Bend Lake Open
MANY — Caden Johnson and Cameron Spence of Sterlington placed 10th out of 49 teams Sunday at the 2018 Bass Pro Shops FLW High School Fishing Toledo Bend Lake Open.
Jase White and Cole Golden of Haughton weighed in a five-bass limit of 14 pounds, 11 ounces to claim first prize.
The top four teams qualified for the 2019 High School Fishing National Championship at a site to be determined.
Benton is sending two teams to the National Championship as Peyton Grantham and Tanner Underwood placed second with five fish for 12-15, followed by Hunter Sanford and William Tew in third with five bass for 11-7. Zachary McMillan and Julianna McMillan were the final team to qualify with a five-bass catch of 11-1.
Rounding out the top 10 teams were Cooper Miller and Jacob Cosenza of Many, five bass, 9-14; Dominick Whatley and Rylon Ganey of Tioga, five bass, 9-2; Mattheson Wright and Jacob Holder of Harleton (Texas), four bass, 8-5; Clayton Page and Keegan Fort of Captain Shreve, four bass, 8-2; Grant Cooper and Trusten Holy, Pineville, four bass, 7-14; and Caden Johnson and Cameron Spence of Sterlington, four bass, 6-13.
The tournament was open to students in grades 7-12 from any Student Angler Federation affiliated high school club in the United States.
