The Bastrop Fire Department is working to make the holidays a little brighter for the less fortunate through a Christmas Toy Drive.

“Unfortunately, the world is not a perfect place, and some children will not be as blessed as others,” said Fire Chief Thomas Crowder in a letter about the Drive.

The toys are being collected by the Bastrop Fire Department for children ages three to eleven. Chief Crowder asks that all toys donated be new and still in the packaging. If stuffed animals are donated they should be new also. Donations should be brought to the Bastrop Fire Department Central Station, but the Fire Department will pick them up if unable to deliver.

The toys will later be delivered to local children. It is hoped that each child will be able to receive several toys.

“We are asking for your assistance collecting and delivering as many toys to as many children as possible,” said Chief Crowder

For more information or if pickup is needed contact Rodney Brown at 1-318-283-3324, Pam Duncan at 1-318-283-3353, Timothy Williams at 1-318-283-3381, or Jeremy Defee at 1-318-283-3376.

Chief Crowder and the Bastrop Fire Department are thankful for any assistance and look forward to helping local kids in need have a merrier Christmas.
