Morehouse General Hospital nurses were treated to a Mexican fiesta party in the Walnut Room at the hospital on Thursday at noon in order to show appreciation for all the hard work they do.
The room was adorned in Spanish decor. Chips and salsa, virgin margaritas and a variety of Tex-Mex food was prepared for them, along with dessert. An invocation was prayed tearfully over the food by Registered Nurse Marie Stephenson, and blessings were spoken over the nurses. There was a backdrop that was made for the nurses to pose and take funny pictures of each other as well.
"We are very proud of our team and were excited to honor their service and dedication to the patients and families they serve," Stephenson said. "Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and it was good for them to be able to have fellowship and fun outside of their work routine. We are very fortunate to have such an experienced team of nurses providing care for this community. It is so important to us that our nurses feel appreciated for the outstanding work that they do every day and night at MGH."
