A Transylvania woman suffers fatal injuries Saturday night in a head-on collision.
Troopers with State Police Troop F responded to the two-vehicle accident at 9:50 p.m. June 22 on Louisiana Highway 2 just east of Mer Rouge.

Initial investigation into the crash revealed a 2003 Chevrolet truck driven by Torre Huber, 44, of McComb, Mississippi, was traveling west on the Oak Grove Highway when it crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven Tommie Waller, 66, of Transylvania, that was traveling east on Louisiana Highway 2.

Waller suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morehouse Parish Coroner’s office. The passenger in the Tahoe, 54-year-old Vicki Wilson of New Waverly, Texas, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Morehouse General. Huber suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Morehouse General. Huber was later transferred to a hospital in Monroe.

Alcohol is not suspected on the part of Waller. Alcohol use is suspected on the part of Huber. Toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.

Huber was charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular negligent injuring, driving left of center, driving with a suspended license, switched license plate, operating an uninsured vehicle and open container. Huber was not booked into jail due to his injuries.
