Reaping the spoils of a fourth straight conference title, the Bastrop Rams swept the individual awards on the All-District 2-4A team as voted on by the five head coaches.

Quarterback Rueben Randle, the No. 1-ranked college prospect in the nation according to rivals.com, is the Offensive Most Valuable Player. An All-State wide receiver as a junior, Randle moved behind center as a senior. He completed 166 of 274 passes for 2,442 yards with 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Randle was also the team’s top rusher with 674 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Defensive lineman D.D. Jones, who has verbally committed to Michigan, is the Defensive MVP. Putting together a stellar season, Jones recorded 72 tackles, a dozen tackles behind the line of scrimmage, two sacks and three fumble recoveries.

Completing the sweep of the individual awards is Coach of the Year Brad Bradshaw, who guided the Rams to an 11-2 record and into the state semifinals.

In all, the Rams garnered seven first-team selections and five second-team honorees.
Randle is joined on the first offense by wide receiver Stanley Moore and center Trevor Rodgers.

Stanley Moore was the team’s leading receiver with 52 receptions for 953 yards (18.3 yards per catch) and 11 touchdowns.

Rodgers started every game at center the last two years, helping the Rams average 38 points per game as a senior.

Jones is accompanied on the first defense by tackle Josh Downs, linebacker Tai (Speedy) Alford and free safety RaDarius (Nook) Winston.

Downs, a two-time All-State selection, was in on 32 stops, five sacks, five tackles for loss and three fumble recoveries (one for a touchdown) as a senior.

Earning All-District recognition for the third straight season, Alford compiled 79 tackles, a sack, a team-high 15 tackles for loss with three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He returned two fumbles and an interception for a touchdown.

Winston registered 70 tackles, a fumble recovery and two tackles for negative yardage to go with a team-best seven interceptions (one for a touchdown).

Representing Bastrop on the second team offense are wide receivers Rodney Heard and Jevante Watson, tight end Hunter Freeland and guard Goldmon Moore.

Heard was the Rams’ second-leading receiver with 32 grabs for 505 yards and 2 TDs.

Watson was the team’s second-leading rusher (57 carries, 413 yards, 12 TDs) and No. 3 receiver (26-489-5).

Freeland, who is listed on the team as a tight end, caught 20 passes for 232 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Goldmon Moore was a two-year starter at right guard for the Rams.

End D’Andre (Buck) Bradshaw is the Rams’ lone second team defensive selection. His season portfolio includes 56 tackles, seven sacks, six tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and two blocked punts (one for a touchdown).
