BLACK BAYOU – Bass fishing is fair in the shade on topwater lures and plastic worms. Crappie and bream are fair around moss beds.

CANEY LAKE  – Bass fishing has been better at night fishing black spinner baits along the banks in the coves and on plastic worms around boat houses and submerged points. Chinquapins are on the 8 foot flats and hitting cold worms. Crappie are biting better at night on shiners fished around lanterns with some scattered around brush piles where jigs are working best.

CHENIERE LAKE – Bass are hitting Wobbleheads and the Yellow Magic topwater lure. Crappie have moved up around shallow trees and will hit black and white or gray jigs fished under a cork. Bream are fair under the shade of cypresses on crickets and worms.

LAKE CLAIBORNE – Bass continue to be better at night fishing lighted piers with big black plastic worms or slow-rolled spinner baits. Catfishing is fair on a variety of baits. Stripers are schooling some and hitting on topwater lures or trolling open water with white bucktails with matching trailers. Crappie are suspended over structure and are fair on shiners or jigs. Bream are fair on worms and crickets.

LAKE D’ARBONNE – Bass are hitting early and late on buzz baits or topwater lures while some are being caught along the channel later in the day on crank baits or Carolina-rigged finesse worms. Night fishing is fair on dark colored worms or spinner baits. Bream are fair fishing crickets or worms off the banks. Catfishing is good on cold worms around the lake. Crappie are better below the spillway in the bayou drifting jigs in the creeks and sloughs.

OUACHITA RIVER – The river is approaching perfect condition and bass should be hitting Rogues in the creeks and river lakes. Crappie fishing is best in the bayous and river lakes.

LAKE POVERTY POINT – Catfish are fair to good on cold worms and cut shad. Bass are best early and late on topwater lures and big plastic worms. Bream fishing is fair around the beds on worms and crickets while crappie are scattered.

LAKE ST. JOHN – Bream fishing is fair on worms and crickets fairly shallow. Catfishing is good on yo-yos baited with cold worms and shiners. Bass are fair early and late on topwater lures. Crappie are slow.

LAKE YUCATAN – The water is in good condition and bream and crappie are responding with lots of both being caught.
