Lincoln Prep 45, Bastrop 36

GRAMBLING — Auniyah Rhone flipped in 20 points as Lincoln Prep was a 45-36 winner over the visiting Bastrop Lady Rams on Tuesday night.

Dressing out only seven players due to a combination of illness and injuries, the Lady Rams were unable to get into the flow offensively.

Lincoln took command from the start, breaking out to a 9-2 first quarter lead. Bastrop never fully recovered from the slow start.

Leading 15-8 at the break, the Lady Panthers upped their lead to 30-21 at the end of the third stanza.

Rhone was accompanied in the Lincoln scoring by Cassandra Evans with eight, Alexis Foster and Tiyan Heard with six, Niketra Carey with four and Justice Cage with one.

Jaleya Peoples and Cynthia Washington carried the Lady Rams offensively with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Tiffany Washington was next with six, Mia Hardin had four and Tydeijah Minnieweather and Chyberia Wilson two apiece.

Lincoln made made 10-of-25 free throws while the Lady Rams made 2 of only 3 attempts.

On the bright side, the Lady Rams forced 29 turnovers.

With the victory, the Lady Panthers evened the season series. Bastrop won the first encounter 47-27 in the season opener for both teams.
