Members of the Ark-La rodeo team will hold a rodeo and barbecue plate sale Saturday, Nov. 10 as a fund raiser for their upcoming trip to Las Vegas.

Eight area cowboys have qualified for the Junior National Finals Rodeo to be held Dec. 6-15 in Las Vegas.

To defray costs of the trip, members of the Ark-La rodeo team will host a rodeo and barbecue plate sale Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Morehouse Activities Center. Plates will be sold from 11 a.m.-until at a cost of $10.

Team sorting starts at 10 a.m., followed by team roping at 2 p.m. and the the rodeo at 6 p.m.

Junior and open events will include bull riding, broncs, calf roping, barrel racing and team roping. A Mutton busting will be included for the youngsters. Additionally, a silent auction and cake auction will be held during the rodeo. Admission is $5.

* Jaxson Thurmon Jr., 11, El Dorado, Arkansas, junior bareback.

* Westin Barnett, 12, Hope, Arkansas, junior bareback.

* Lathan Stringer, 14, Monticello, Arkansas, senior bareback.

* Joesph Roberts, 15, White Hall, Arkansas, senior bareback.

* Braden Smith, 16, Spearsville, novice bareback.

* Luke Thrash, 17, Bastrop, novice bareback.
