Alyssa Martin fired a three-hit shutout and blasted a two-run home run as Glenbrook was a 10-0 winner over Prairie View in MAIS District 5-2A play Thursday afternoon.

Addi Monk's two-out, two-run single staked the Lady Apaches to a 2-0 first-inning lead.

There was no further scoring until the visitors broke through for five in the fifth.

With one away, Sarah Mosley beat out a bunt single to bring up the top of the batting order. Martin then deposited a two-run shot over the center field fence, doubling Glenbrook's lead to 4-0.

Consecutive singles by Emma Earnhardt, Hannah Mosley and Reese Hanson loaded the bases for Monk, who drove in her third run of the day with a sacrifice fly. Aubrie Dickson followed with a two-run double, extending the margin to 7-0.

Glenbrook wrapped up the scoring with three in the seventh.

Martin struck out eight and walked two for the win while holding the Lady Spartans to three singles.

Glenbrook generated eight hits as Hanson went 2-for-3, Martin homered and scored three runs, Dickson doubled and Earnhardt, Hannah Mosley, Monk and Sarah Mosley singled.

Kayla Hawthorne went 2-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases and Chloe Hobson singled for the Lady Spartans (6-7, 1-1), whose four-game winning streak came to an end.

Hawthorne went 4.2 innings in taking the loss with Rachel Hankins in relief.

Prairie View is at home Tuesday against Franklin Academy. Games times are 5 p.m. (JV) and 6:30 (varsity).

Elle Morgan's two-run home run wasn't enough as Glenbrook won the junior varsity game.

Emma Goss added an RBI triple and Anna Grace White singled for the Lady Spartans.
