Beekman will make its long-awaited preseason debut in the three-team Crossett Jamboree on Friday night.
D'Arbonne Woods and Crossett start the action at 6:30 p.m., followed by Beekman vs. D'Arbonne Woods, and Beekman vs. Crossett.
Beekman made the trip to El Dorado, Arkansas to scrimmage Parker's Chapel on Friday, Aug. 17, only to turn around and come back.
"When we got there, water was standing from the track to the numbers on the football field," Beekman coach Joey Lee said. "We waited about 40 minutes and the water was only on the sideline, but their athletic director didn't want to tear the field up."
Lee was glad to see the Tigers' reaction to the cancellation.
"The kids were disappointed, which is a good sign," Lee said. "You could see it on their faces in the locker room — they were mad as could be. They are tired of hitting each other every day."
Friday will provide an opportunity to line up against someone else.
"We just have to get ready for Crossett and D'Arbonne Woods," Lee said.
Lee, who is entering his first year as the Tigers' head coach, is looking for substantial improvement from a team coming off of an 0-9 season.
"As long as we stay healthy and buy in, I think we'll be all right," Lee said. "From the veer, you are going to have a lot of contact. Hopefully, we can get out of the jamboree with no injuries."
Among the Tigers' key returnees are lineman Xavier Lewis, fullback/linebackers Seth Meyers and Dalon Moore, quarterback Brock Jenkins and tight end Ethan White.
Beekman opens the regular season Friday, Aug. 31 with a home tilt against LaSalle.
