BLACK BAYOU — Bream are slow to fair. Bass are slow to fair with a few caught around grass on fake frogs and plastic worms. Crappie are scattered and slow. Contact the Honey Hole Tackle Shop at 323.8707 for latest information.

LAKE D’ARBONNE — Crappie fishing is fair with best fishing being below the spillway on shiners or jigs. Some are being caught in the lake around the old creek channels. Bass are in the deeper holes where a few have been caught on plastic worms. Wobbleheads are working somewhat around grass beds in the lake. The bream bite has slowed but catfish never seem to stop; you can catch them off the banks all around the lake using cold worms. LAKE CLAIBORNE — The bass bite has been sporadic with them biting one day; not hitting anything the next. Crappie fishing is fair with most bites on shiners or jigs coming on cloudy days. Once the sun peeks out, the bite is over. Bream have slowed as has trotlining for catfish. However, stripers are being caught slowly trolling white bucktails with white grub trailers. CANEY LAKE — Most of the bass are being caught in water 18-20 feet deep on oversized plastic worms and deep diving crank baits. One weighing 8.6 pounds was reported this week. Best fishing seems to be at night when things cool down and bass are more willing to hit a big worm or black spinner bait. Crappie are slow to fair with most caught fishing shiners or jigs 14 feet deep around tops in 18 foot water. Bream fishing has slowed with not many caught this week. No report on catfish.
