LAKE D’ARBONNE — Crappie fishing has been good both in the lake and below the spillway. Shiners and jigs are taking lots of nice fish. A few are still around the shallow trees but most have moved out to deeper water. Bass have been best on spinners and chatter baits around grass fairly shallow. Bream fishing is good fishing the beds with crickets and worms. Lots of catfish continue to come in fishing cold worms off the banks. LAKE CLAIBORNE — The striper bite continues fishing shad imitations. They are not really schooling yet but can be caught. Bass have been rather slow to fair with not too many good ones reported. Bream are on the shallow beds and hitting crickets and worms. Catfishing has been quite good on trotlines and stump hooks with some big flatheads and blue cats being caught on live bream used as bait. CANEY LAKE — Bass fishing has been fair to good with some nice fish being caught on the deeper drop-offs and humps. Chatter baits are picking up the most fish. The bream bite is going strong with both chinquapins and bluegills hitting crickets and worms. Crappie have been hitting jigs with the Bobby Garland Blue Ice and Blue Grass seeing the most action. LAKE POVERTY POINT — Catfishing has been good this week on cut shad, chicken livers and night crawlers being the preferred baits. Bream are on the beds and hitting crickets and worms.
