Ashton Lollie went 3-for-6 with six RBIs and three pitchers combined for a no-hitter in Bastrop's win over Carroll on Monday afternoon.
Sending 18 batters to the plate, Bastrop put up 13 runs in the bottom of the first inning on its way to a 23-0 win over Carroll on Monday afternoon at Baron Ballpark.
Kenyon Beasley and A.J. Fenceroy reached on consecutive errors to start the scoring. After Skeeter Brooks was hit by a pitch, Ashton Lollie drilled a two-run double to left. Later in the inning, Lollie added a two-run triple and Zedarrion Ridgell stroked a two-run single.
Bastrop closed out the scoring with one in the second and nine in the third.
Skeeter Brooks struck out three of the six batters he faced to pick up the win. Lollie and Danny Hill each worked a scoreless inning to finish up the no-hitter.
Shortstop Beasley made a spectacular grab on a line drive for the final out of the second inning to keep the no-no intact.
Lollie went 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, six RBIs and three runs scored to pace the Rams (3-2) at the plate. Jaden Davis poled a two-run triple and Fenceroy, Joe Brown and Ridgell singled.
Bastrop hosts Richwood on Tuesday at 5 p.m., followed by a three-game District 2-4A series vs. Franklin Parish. Game 1 is set for Thursday at 5 p.m. in Winnsboro before the series shifts to Baron on Saturday for a 12 p.m. double header.
Note: The Beekman-Bastrop game has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 21 at 4 p.m.. Originally scheduled for March 5, the game was rained out after only one inning.
