All-District 2-2A Team

Beekman sophomore point guard Gracie Wooden has been named to the All-District 2-2A second team.

District champion and state quarterfinalist Rayville swept the individual awards.

Senior Tashunna Neal is the Player of the Year and Jokeirra Snead is Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Hornets to a 23-12 record and a perfect 10-0 conference mark.

Neal is accompanied on the first unit by junior T'Kira Fuller.

District runner-up Ferriday, the No. 3 seed in the playoff bracket, also has two first-team selections in Anasia Turner and Pocha Poole. The duo helped the Lady Trojans to a 24-5 season record.

Rounding out the first unit is T'iara Haynes of Mangham.

A first-team All-District 2-1A honoree last season, Wooden helped the Lady Tigers to a respectable 6-6 conference record in their inaugural year in Class 2A. She led the team in scoring (11.4), assists (2.3) and steals (3.1) and was second in rebounding (3.9).

Also named to the second team were Jalexis Kelly and Shamari Franklin of Rayville, Roslyn Jones of General Trass and Janiya Colvin of Mangham.

Beekman is represented on the honorable mention list by sophomore forward Jesci Lord (6.5 ppg, 6.2 rpg) and junior guard Kateland Fulmer (6.7 ppg, 2.1 steals).

Rounding out the honorable mention picks are Diamond Johnson of Ferriday, Raci Dallas of Mangham, Jaiya Offord of Delhi Charter, Jamaya Smith of Vidalia, and Patricia Griffin and Zaria Craig of General Trass.
