Sterlington 15, Beekman 0

Senior left-hander Tanner Wilson threw a one-hitter and Sterlington racked up 17 hits in a 15-0 triumph over Beekman, Friday afternoon in the Ouachita Tournament at Panther Park.

Tanner Spigner led off the game with a base hit up the middle for the Lady Tigers' (3-5) lone hit.

She struck out one without walking a batter and allowed only one runner past first base.

Sterlington went up 1-0 in the home half of the first.

Breanna Sylvestri reached on a bunt single, stole second and moved to third when K.B. Briley raced to first on an error. As Briley was momentarily caught in a rundown, Sylvestri dashed home with the first run of the game.

Sterlington struck for three with two outs and the bases empty in the second.

Jada Smith slapped a base hit to right, swiped second, scooted to third on a wild pitch, and Tanner Wilson walked. Smith then stole home on the front end of a double steal. After Sylvestri reached via error, Briley slammed a two-run single to left to make it 4-0.

Sterlington upped the margin to 7-0 in the third on Smith's RBI single and Tanner Wilson's two-run single before putting the game away with an eight-spot in the fourth.

Amber Parnell went 3-for-4 with a double and Sylvestri accounted for three singles and scored three times to pace the Lady Panthers (10-2) offensively. Rebekah Wood and Carly Wilson doubled and singled, Tanner Wilson and Smith supplied two singles apiece, and Briley, Catherine Trichell and Carson Lyon singled.

Tournament play continues Saturday with four games at Panther Park. Sterlington and Menard meet in the early game at 9 a.m., followed by Calvary Baptist vs. Mangham at 11 a.m., Elizabeth vs. Beekman at 1 p.m. and Ouachita Christian vs. Haughton at 3.
