Sterlington 9, Ouachita 4

Three pitchers combined on a one-hitter and K.B. Briley went 3-for-3 at the plate as Sterlington cruised to an 11-1 victory in the season softball opener for both teams Monday afternoon.

Sterlington went up 8-0 with two in the first and six in the third.

Tanner Wilson opened the first with a base hit, stole second and third and scored on Briley's base hit. Briley eventually scored on Rebekah Wood's squeeze bunt.

On to the third, the Lady Panthers' first seven batters reached safely. Rachel Wisecarver was safe on a two-base error, Carli Wilson singled and Jada Smith followed with an RBI single. Back to the top of the order, Tanner Wilson pulled in at first on a misplay, Briley tagged an RBI triple and Lyon followed with a run-scoring double.

Alias Harris deposited a home run over the center field fence with one out in the fourth to put the Lady Rams on the board.

Sterlington wrapped up the scoring with three in the fifth.

Briley tripled, doubled and singled to pace the Lady Panthers' eight-hit output. Lyon doubled and Tanner Wilson, Breanna Sylvestri, Carli Wilson and Smith supplied base hits.

Sylvestri struck out five of the seven batters she faced to notch the win in the circle. Tanner Wilson worked two innings and Emarie Adams one inning in relief.
