No. 26 Beekman (11-16) at No. 7 Rayville (21-11, 12-0), Thursday, 6 p.m.
Beekman probably didn't get the matchup it wanted for the first round of the Class 2A girls basketball state playoffs, but at least the Lady Tigers have a short trip. As the No. 26 seed, Beekman will travel to District 2-2A rival and No. 7 seed Rayville on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Rayville (21-11, 12-0) swept the two regular season meetings, winning 67-31 at Beekman on Jan. 9, and 64-19 at the Hornets' Nest on Jan. 30.
Since losing to Class 5A West Monroe 67-56 on Jan. 4, the Lady Hornets have won 10 straight.
Beekman (11-16, 6-6) dropped its regular season finale to Mangham 59-38 Friday night.
Thursday's Beekman-Rayville winner moves on to face the No. 23 Pine-No. 10 Mansfield winner in the second round.
In other games involving District 2-2A teams, No. 3 Ferriday hosts No. 30 Springfield, No. 13 Mangham is at home vs. No. 20 Port Allen, and No. 31 Delhi Charter travels to No. 2 Lake Arthur.
