Carroll 54, Bastrop 38
DELHI — Amber Brown scored 24 points as Carroll was a 54-38 winner over Bastrop, Thursday night in the Delhi Tournament.
"We haven't shot the ball well the last two games," Bastrop coach Gerline Guillaume said. "We have missed a lot of layups and free throws. We have to finish our layups and get to the line more."
Despite the early season struggles, Guillaume says she has seen improvement.
"We are getting better," Guillaume said. "I think a lot of it has to do with confidence and being so young. As they play together more and get to know each other better, their confidence will grow."
Bastrop received nine points apiece from Javia Kennedy and Destiny Cephas, six from Chyberia Wilson, four from Tydeijah Minniewather, three from Casual Williams and Destiny Neblett, two from Mia Hardin and one from James Rabun and Cynthia Washington.
Carroll improved to 5-3, while the Lady Rams slipped to 1-5.
Friday's tournament schedule has been changed. Both of Bastrop's games have been moved up an hour. The Rams take on General Trass at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Lady Rams vs. tournament host Delhi at 6:45.
