Mangham 35, Beekman 12

Donovan Haynes ran for 146 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries as the Mangham Dragons carved out a 35-12 victory over Beekman on Friday night at Keith Huntsman Field.

Touchdown runs of 2, 44 and 7 yards by Haynes staked the Dragons to a 20-0 second quarter lead.

Freshman wingback Donte Straughter ran 31 yards for his first varsity touchdown to wrap up the Dragons' scoring.

Brock Jenkins and Zeb Morgan teamed up for touchdown passes in the second and fourth quarter for the Tigers.

Averaging 7.6 yards per carry, the Dragons rushed 51 times for 389 yards. All three pass attempts fell incomplete.

Haynes was complemented in Mangham's running game by Straughter (3 carries, 67 yards, 1 TD), Cam Wilmore (14-55) and Adam Eley (5-35).

Beekman managed just 155 yards of total offense (88 rushing, 67 passing).

Brock Jenkins completed 7-of-13 passes for 67 yards and the two touchdown strikes to Morgan.

Morgan rushed eight times for 49 yards and caught two passes for 19. Taron Taylor pitched in with 32 yards on six carries. Johnny Gipson added a 28-yard reception and Ethan White hauled in a 17-yard pass for the Tigers.

Beekman's leading tacklers were Lucas Lara, Seth Meyers, Cobe Matthews and Dalon Moore. Xavier Louis, Matthews and Moore forced fumbles. Scott McMath (fumble recovery) and Charles Paige (interception) created turnovers for the Tigers.

Beekman (0-5, 0-2 District 2-2A) visits Delhi Charter (2-3, 0-1) Friday at 7 p.m. before taking an open date the following week.

Mangham (5-0, 2-0) makes the short trek to face Richland Parish rival Rayville (1-4, 1-1) on Friday night.
