Grambling fans will have the opportunity to mingle with players and coaches Saturday morning.

GRAMBLING — The Grambling State University Department of Athletics extends an invitation to all fans, alumni, media outlets and other supporters of Grambling State Athletics to attend the 2017 GSU Athletics Fall Sports Fan/Media Day on Saturday, August 19.
The event will give visitors a chance to experience a game-like scrimmage by the GSU football team. This will be the final scrimmage of training camp before the semester begins and will be run approximately 9:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. at the old Tiger Stadium at the university track.
Immediately following the scrimmage, players and coaches will be available to mingle with the fans and sign autographs along the sidelines of the practice field.
Supporters of GSU Athletics willhave an opportunity to interact with the coaches and players from the each of the 2017 fall athletics programs, as well as with athletics department administration.
Schedule cards and posters will also be available to the public. Fans are encouraged to park in the Lincoln Prep High School (Grambling Lab High School) parking lot, south of old Tiger Stadium. Additionally, fans as encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and sit on the west side of the track, opposite of the sidelines where the football team will be (on the same side with Phyllis Wheatley Hall). The GSU Ticket Office will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. - noon. Fans and supporters may purchase season and single-game tickets, as well as season parking passes. Tickets for the Tulane game will also be available for $35 each.
The G-Men ended last season with an 11-1 overall record and earned the titles of SWAC Champions, Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl Champions and HBCU Football National Champions. Head coach Broderick Fobbs and the G-Menwill kick-off the 2017 GSU football season in New Orleans against Tulane on Saturday, September 2 at 7 p.m. The game will be televised live from Yulman Stadium on ESPN3. Grambling's home opener will be the following week on September 9 at 6 p.m. against Northwestern State in newly upgraded Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium.
First year head coach Justin Wagar and the GSU women's soccer team will open the season at Texas A&M - Texarkana on Friday, August 25 at 11 a.m. The GSU women's volleyball team will play its first match in the ISTAP Collegiate Cup tournament in Montgomery, Ala. vs. North Carolina A&T on August 26 at 11 a.m.
Both the GSU men and women's cross country teams will run in the ULM Warhawk Cross Country season-opening meet on Friday, Sept.1.
