CANEY LAKE — Bass are schooling early and late with some caught on topwater shad imitations and Rat-L-Traps. Bass to 8 pounds have been caught at night on 11 inch dark colored plastic worms with some during the days around deep humps on crank baits.. Crappie fishing has been fair fishing the deep tops with shiners working best. Bream fishing is good on crickets and worms. LAKE D’ARBONNE — Some good crappie catches have been made below the spillway on shiners or jigs. Also some are being caught in the channel and deeper sloughs in the lake as well. Bass fishing has been fair to good on plastic worms and lizards around grass and trees with best catches made around the sloughs. Bream and catfish continue to bite cold worms fished off the banks. LAKE CLAIBORNE — Bass fishing is slow to fair with some caught on plastic worms around deep structure. Crappie are fair to occasionally good around the deep tops on shiners and jigs. Bream fishing has been good around the beds on crickets and worms. Stripers are slow to fair with some schooling on top and hitting shad imitations.
