Bastrop will hold its first full-scale practice on Friday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.
Monday, July 31 marks the first official day of football practice for all Louisiana High School Athletic Association-member schools.
Meanwhile, Bastrop High will continue voluntary workouts this week.
"Our workouts are going well," first-year head coach Adrian Burnette said. "We're doing a little conditioning and closing everything out for the summer."
Burnette says the public is invited to attend "Friday Under the Lights" when the Rams hold their first full-gear practice on Friday, August 4 at 7 p.m.
Bastrop's preseason appearances include a Saturday, August 19 scrimmage at Wossman and the Bastrop Jamboree on Friday, August 25.
Ferriday will join the Rams and Wossman in Monroe for the scrimmage. Burnette said another school could possibly be added.
Delhi Charter will provide the opposition for the Rams in the jamboree. The full schedule has yet to be finalized.
Bastrop opens the regular season in New Orleans against Carver on Friday, September 1.
With only three returning starters, Bastrop finished 5-5 last season, including a 50-41 first-round playoff loss to Livonia.
Promoted from offensive coordinator during the spring, Burnette is the Rams' fourth head coach in four years.
