BLACK BAYOU — Bream fishing has been good on crickets and worms. Bass are fair on jigs, spinners and soft plastics. Crappie are scattered and slow. Contact the Honey Hole Tackle Shop at 323.8707 for latest information.

CANEY LAKE — Bass fishing has been going pretty well with best catches made using topwater lures along the sea walls while some bigger fish are being caught on drop-shot rigs fished on deeper points. Crappie fishing has been fair fishing the deep tops with shiners working best. Bream fishing is good on crickets and worms. OUACHITA RIVER — The water level is falling and the river lakes have been good for crappie, bass and bream. Crappie are best drifting jigs while bass are hitting a variety of lures. Bream are good on crickets and worms. For latest information, contact the Honey Hole Tackle Shop at 323.8707.

CHENIERE LAKE — The lake is down with road work going on which is limiting access to the lake. However, those who are able to get on the lake are catching bass, crappie and bream. Contact the Honey Hole Tackle Shop at 323.8707 for latest information.

LAKE D’ARBONNE — The water is in good condition barring heavy rains fro the tropical system. Crappie fishing has been best on shiners and jigs fishing 5-8 feet deep in 12-14 foot water on the flats. Bream and catfish continue to bite crickets, night crawlers and cold worms fished off the banks. Bass fishing has been fair to good with some fish still shallow around grass and hitting Wobbleheads. Others are on the deeper ledges and hitting soft plastics, spinners, crank baits and plastic frogs. LAKE CLAIBORNE — Bass fishing has been good with best catches of heavier fish made by fishing deep diving crank baits on underwater ledges and humps. Greg Terzia, Ruston, landing one going almost 9 pounds fishing a crank bait. Crappie have slowed a bit but some can still be caught fishing around deep brush with shiners or jigs. Catfishing has improved on trotlines, stump hooks as well as rods and reels. Bream are fair and mostly running rather small. No report on stripers. LAKE POVERTY POINT — Catfishing is good on cut shad. Bream are fair to good. Crappie are scattered while bass to 8 pounds have been caught this week. For latest reports, call Poverty Point Marina at 318.878.0101.
