BLACK BAYOU — The bream bite is just now starting on worms and crickets. Some chinquapins are starting to show up on night crawlers. Crappie are slow and scattered. Bass are fair around grass on soft plastics and spinners. Contact the Honey Hole Tackle Shop at 323.8707 for latest information.

CANEY LAKE — Crappie are moving shallow with best catches made off the banks on shiners and Bobby Garland jigs. Bass have been best on soft plastics in the coves as the fish are moving in to spawn. LAKE D’ARBONNE — Crappie are moving into the sloughs and creeks with best fishing being in the shallows around trees and brush. Shiners and jigs are both working on these fish. Bass are around shallow grass and trees and are best on spinners, crank baits, lizards and jigs. Bream are steadily improving and lots of catfish are being caught on cold worms. LAKE CLAIBORNE — Bass fishing has been best using spinner baits in shallow water, especially up the creeks. Crappie are on the move and are in and out of the shallows with some caught on shiners and jigs. Catfish are biting on blood bait and cold worms. Bream fishing is improving on worms and crickets. LAKE POVERTY POINT — Crappie fishing is improving around the boat slips and on the south end of the lake on shiners and jigs. Bass are best on crank baits.
