Lincoln Prep at Beekman, Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.

Beekman will open the Class 1A state softball playoffs at home against Lincoln Prep. Starting time for the first home playoff event in Beekman school history is scheduled for Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Coach Caroline Oliphant's Lady Tigers are the No. 10 seed, while the Lady Panthers are No. 23.

Beekman (7-13, 2-3 District 2-1A) closed out the regular season with back-to-back home field wins over D'Arbonne Woods Charter (9-5) Monday and St. Frederick (11-6) Tuesday.

Megan Huntsman jolted a pair of triples and Ashton Reynolds went 2-for-3 with three RBI in the Senior Night victory over St. Fred.

Beekman is making its second straight postseason appearance. In their first season as a playoff eligible program, the No. 18-seeded Lady Tigers lost to No. 15 Grand Lake 6-0 in the opening round last year.

Lincoln Prep (formerly Grambling Lab) brings a 4-10 record into the playoffs, including a 1-5 mark in District 1-1A. Wrapping up the regular season on Thursday, April 6, the Lady Panthers dropped both ends of a double header to Carroll, 12-11 and 17-5.

Tuesday's Lincoln Prep-Beekman winner will face the No. 26 Plain Dealing-No. 7 Delta Charter winner in the second round.
