All-District 2-2A Team

Sterlington senior guard Jaylon Naron has been selected to the first-team All-District 2-2A team.

Naron averaged 17.6 points per game while shooting 42 percent from the 3-point arc and 82 percent from the free throw line. A two-year starter, Naron helped the Panthers compile a 22-13 record and advance to the second round of the state playoffs during the recently-completed season.

State runner-up Rayville swept the individual awards. Senior Michael Williams is the Most Valuable Player and Damon West is Coach of the Year.

Williams and West led the Hornets to a 28-7 record, including a perfect 10-0 mark in District 2-2A play, and a No. 2 seed in the state playoff bracket. Rayville carried a 17-game winning streak into the state finals before losing a hard-fought 65-61 decision to No. 1 seed Madison Prep.

Sophomore Mylik Wilson joins Williams on the first team from Rayville. Rounding out the first group are a pair of juniors, post Dantrieze Scott (14.3 points, 16 rebounds) of Ferriday and Jimmie Criff of Mangham.

Scott helped the district runner-up Trojans (22-7, 8-2) to a No. 3 postseason seed and a state quarterfinal berth.

Williams and Scott are both repeat first-team All-District honorees.

Senior forward Semaj Colvin represents Sterlington on the second team. Reporting late after helping the Panthers win the state football championship, Semaj Colvin averaged 13.9 points and 9.8 rebounds in his fourth season as a starter.

Also named to the second team were sophomores JaMichael and JaMarkus Wilson of Rayville and seniors Carlos Collins (11 points, 9 rebounds) of Ferriday and Nemia Madere of General Trass.

Receiving honorable mention acclaim from Sterlington were freshman point guard Kyle Henderson, sophomore forward C.J. Colvin and senior guard Zach Pittman.
