Bastrop High School and Louisiana Technical College Bastrop Campus worked together to encourage Bastrop High students to work hard and earn IT Certifications. All students who earned an industry certification were eligible for the drawings for Dell Latitude laptops and Ipod Nanos. The prizes were purchased with grant funds from the Ford Foundation. The grant’s purpose was to launch Louisiana Technical College-Region 8 Information Technology Career Pathway initiative. Three students took home prizes after receiving their certifications. Michael Ogorman (not pictured) and Samuel Jones (second from left) won laptops; Mike Jiang (third from left) won an Ipod Nano. (Left) Kathy Caldwell, a Bastrop High business teacher, and LTC’s admissions officer Stacey Pullen rewarded the recipients with their prizes Monday morning at Bastrop High.
