The Bastrop Police Department and the Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office are both asking for information regarding recent thefts.
On July 24, the BPD was called to 372 West Madison to the First Class Barber Shop where a robbery was reported. The business had been broken into and several sets of hair clippers and a large number of bottles of cologne were taken.
Bastrop Police were also called to North Locust on July 24 to a residence where they were told of a theft from their yard. A person or persons took a 1991 red Daihatsu vehicle. This car is like a small SUV. Also taken was a Raycraft boat, motor, trailer and fishing gear from the yard. The vehicle is valued at $3,000; the boat is valued at $2,500; the motor is valued at $500 and the trailer is valued at $700. The owner also reported the boat contained a lot of fishing equipment.
On July 23, the MPSO received a call at 2:20 p.m. from a resident on the Crossett Road. The resident reported that someone took a black Brute air compressor valued at $200. Also taken was a yellow 3.5 kilowatt generator valued at $300. The air compressor has a blue hose on it.
In a separate incident on the 23rd, the Sheriff’s office received a call from a business on Hwy165 South. They reported that a Rolex watch was stolen out of a vehicle parked at the business. The watch is gold and valued at $3,000.
At 10 a.m. on July 24, MPSO responded to a complaint from a resident on the Crenshaw Road in Jones. The owner told officers that a red 1989 Honda 350 4X4 was stolen from the yard and a 1985 Honda, also red, with no seat and no tires was taken.
