It’s no secret that arrowheads, beads and other American Indian artifacts, some many thousands of years old, have been collected from the fields and riverbanks of northeast Louisiana.
Private owners will have the chance to learn the age, function and cultural origin of their artifacts in two weeks. Chemin-A-Haut State Park will host an artifact identification day on Saturday, Jan. 28 with Poverty Point State Historic Site archaeologists David Griffing and Mark Fox.
