NLDEB search apartment, find suspected drugs

Bastrop, La. -

An early morning search leads to two arrests with three drug charges each.

According to Bastrop Police Chief Downey Black, the Northeast Louisiana Drug Enforcement Bureau received information regarding an apartment at 55 Eden. Officers obtained a search warrant for the location.

Officers arrived at the location and presented the search warrant at 7:30 a.m. Friday, June 26. They found over a quarter of a pound of suspected marijuana, some suspected ecstasy pills and suspected vicodin.

Charletta Butcher, 27, and Johnnie Duke, 30, were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule I or ecstasy with intent to distribute and possession of schedule III or vicodin.

Both individuals were placed in the Morehouse Jail, where they are awaiting bond.
