The Louisiana Purchase Council, Boy Scouts of America is looking for all alumni of the Boy Scouts. Whether you participated for one year or numerous years as a youth, adult or supporter, the Council wants to reconnect with you. Later in 2010, the Council will host a large alumni event.
As the Boy Scouts of America prepares to celebrate their centennial in February 2010, they are proud to continue the mission adopted nearly 100 years ago - preparing every eligible youth in America to become a participating citizen and leader. More than 111 million American youth and adult leaders have passed through Scouting since 1910, making the 100th Anniversary more than just a date on a calendar. It is a celebration shared by millions and an opportunity to engage those millions to reintroduce Scouting to America. Through the BSA Alumni Connection, we invite BSA Alumni to come back, make a new connection, and get involved in Scouting once again
“With every element of this important milestone, we’re committed to inspiring, engaging, and empowering our entire Scouting community,” said Dave Sorrell, Scout Executive. “Scouting alumni are a big part of that. We would like them to come back, make a new connection and take an active role in Scouting again.”
When Scouting alumni visit www.BSAalumni.org, access to a host of new alumni programs is gained. The ability to search for old Scouting friends and mentors, upload photos and stories to an online scrapbook, and learn how to get involved in the 100th Anniversary activities and events is part of the site. Scouts will even be able to do something that for the past 100 years only active Scouts could do-earn a series of commemorative patches.
