Bastrop, La. -

With weather predictions showing the path of hurricane Gustav to make landfall on the coast of South Louisiana, the Town Council and Mayor of the Town of Oak Grove, La have announced they will again open the Oak Grove City Park’s RV parking to residents fleeing the storm.

The 40 lots will be available on a first come basis and include water and electricity along with use of the American Legion hall as a place of safe shelter if weather conditions call for it in North Louisiana.

This is the third time the park’s RV parking has been open to evacuees from hurricanes.  The city opened the lots to residents fleeing from Katrina and Rita in 2005.

For more information contact the Oak Grove City Police at 318-428-3275.

From Interstate 20 Oak Grove is located 30 miles due north of Delhi, La. on La. Hwy 17 and from U.S. 165 it is 60 miles northeast of Monroe on La. Hwy. 2.
