A suspect has been named in the Friday, January 29 robbery of a man in the parking lot of an accounting firm on East Madison near the Magnolia Shopping Center. Rashad Peoples, a black male, age 21, is wanted on charges of armed robbery. According to detectives, Peoples is the twin brother of Ahmad E. Peoples who was arrested on charges of armed robbery and conspiracy in connection with the robbery of Family Dollar that took place on January 19.

According to Chief Criminal Deputy Brian Shoemaker, work release inmate Edward Pauley, a white male, 5'10" tall, 161 pounds, walked off from a work release job in Bastrop at approximately 4 p.m. Friday, January 29.

On Monday afternoon, DNA evidence allowed the detective division of the Bastrop Police Department to make an arrest in an October 2015 rape case. Eddie Hilliard, age 44, of 702 Harrington was booked on charges of second degree rape.
