In the past few months the Morehouse Chamber of Commerce has once again stepped forward to donate funds for Kullo, the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office K-9, so he can receive the best care possible.

Kullo is a 4 year old German Shepherd from the Netherlands and joined the Morehouse Sheriff Department in February, 2017. His handler is Corporal Daniel Jones. Kullo was donated to the department by Liberty Healthcare with a price tag of $10,000. He is the first K9 that Morehouse Sheriff Department has had in approximately 12 years now.

When Kullo first arrived at the sheriff's department in February, 2017, several members of the Bastrop-Morehouse Chamber of Commerce board of directors and the executive director donated money that would be used for the maintenance (food, bedding, leashes, etc). The money was sent to Bastrop Feed & Seed Hardware where they maintained the “credit” for Kullo to be furnished with what he needs. Recently, the Chamber was made aware that our fund was getting low. Therefore, they decided to once again donate money to help care for Kullo. $600 was donated.

The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's office is thankful for the donation and glad to have help caring for their K-9 unit.
