The 2018 Annual Morehouse General Hospital “Angel Tree” is up and ready for the Community and MGH employees to come and “Pick an Angel”.

According to De Edre’ Robinson, MGH Angel Tree organizer, the MGH Angel Tree’s mission is to provide one "Wish" and one "Need" gift to a Morehouse Parish child or teen served by The Wellspring during the Christmas season.

Satrina Miles has worked closely with Morehouse General Hospital to supply the “Angels” for our tree," Robinson said. "Mrs. Miles is the Transitional Housing Case Manager for The Wellspring’s Bastrop office. Satrina manages all of their housing clients. Eligible housing clients are those that have left their homes due to domestic violence. Each year, Satrina compiles the Angel “Need” and “Wish” list from the families she is working with in October. The identities of the children are kept confidential on the “Needs” and “Wish” list. Mrs Robinson only receives a completed ‘Wish” and “Need” list for each child that is identified by a WS number, age and sex.

Morehouse General Hospital’s Angel Tree Program for the 2018 Christmas season begins November 14. The Hospital welcomes the community to join the hospital’s employees in taking this opportunity to provide love in a tangible way to families who have experienced stress and hardship and have resiliently prevailed.

To participate, stop by Morehouse General Hospital’s Walnut Room and “Pick an Angel” card off of the tree. Remove the contact information sheet from the back of the Angel card, complete the contact information sheet then place the sheet in the Angel box located next to the Angel Tree. (This information will only be used to contact supporters if the gift is not returned by the 12th of December). Fulfill the request for an item listed on the card. Wrapped gifts, with the Angel card attached, should be returned to the Morehouse General Hospital Main lobby no later than 2 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018.
