Vanessa Clay believes in helping the needy, which is one of the reasons she is hosting a Vendor Market in Sterlington on Saturday, October 13.

The market, being held at 167 Harris Road, will include children's activities, healthcare resources, food, and a DJ. There will also be raffles, door prizes, and a variety of vendors. There will be holiday items and deals available as well.

“We'll have furniture, clothing, jewelry, tools, and handmade items,” said Clay.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Early Bird admission from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. is $3, and admission from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. is $5. Kids 12 and under get in free.

Proceeds will go to help local families in need. Food will also be collected for the food pantry at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Containers will be available for the food.

“We make sure the proceeds go back to the needy and to charity,” stated Clay. “St. Andrew's has a food pantry they give from every month, and we are taking donations.”

The event also allows merchants to receive exposure for their products.

“We advertise vendors on social media, radio, and in newspaper ads,” Clay noted.

Clay held a market previously in July and hopes to hold more in the future. She hopes this market will be well attended and that people will show their support.

“Hopefully people will come out and support the event,” she said. “It should be a successful day for the vendors.
