The Bastrop-Morehouse Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual Legislative Luncheon on Wednesday, September 19.

The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Visitor's Center on 110 N. Franklin Street. Local legislators will speak about important topics concerning state government.

“It is something we do every year and we invite our state senators and representatives, and they give us an update us on things going on in Baton Rouge,” said Chamber Director Dorothy Ford. “They talk about any new laws or legislation and we can ask questions so it is just a way for us to connect with them.”

Tickets are $12.00 and must be purchased by Thursday, September 13.

The event is being sponsored by First South Farm Credit, Origin Bank and Morehouse Community Medical Centers. ETC Catering will be providing lunch.

This year's speakers will be Senator Mike Walsworth, Representative Jay Morris, Representative Katrina Jackson and Representative Bubba Chaney.

“Everyone is invited to attend and hear our senator and representatives give us an update,” said Chamber of Commerce Director Dorothy Ford.
