The Morehouse Parish Police Jury approved an emergency purchase of a new computer for the Bastrop City Public Works Department at their monthly meeting June 11.
The computer will be purchased from Nettech for a state contract price of $1,183.01.
The jury also unanimously voted to begin accepting bids on four adjudicated properties located in Bastrop. The properties include 715 Limerick St. with a minimum bid of $1,200, 216 South Martin L. King with a minimum bid of $700, 1202 Kay Ave. with a minimum bid of $900 and Lot 3 Woodland Estate with a minimum bid of $1,000.
The cleaning of the air conditioner system at the Morehouse Parish Health Unit, using monies from the Health Unit fund to pay the cost, was also approved by the jury. Bakers A/C & Appliance Repair's estimate cost of $3,518 was approved by the board.
Also at the meeting, the jury approved of a $0.50 raise for an employee at the Morehouse Parish Health Unit, effective the beginning of the next pay period.
The jury also chose the Bastrop Daily Enterprise as the Morehouse Parish Police Jury's official parish journal.
