Simpson 11, Pickering 6
Simpson racked up 10 hits in its 11-6 win over Pickering Friday night.
Pickering scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-3 lead, but Simpson scored two runs in the fifth and sixth to take the lead and racked up four runs in the seventh widen the gap.
Lexie Merriman went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Kenzie Rachal went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs for Simpson.
Stephanie Ferris went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBU, and Shay Petty went 2-for-4 for Pickering.
Grant 2, Leesville 0
Grant scored two early runs and that would be enough to knock off Leesville Thursday night.
The Lady Cats had just two hits in seven innings and were unable to catch up as they lost 2-0.
Grant jumped out to the 2-0 lead in the first inning, but Madelyn Phillips responded with 14 strikeouts after the first inning and 16 total in the game.
Phillips also gave up just three hits over seven innings of work.
Bella Houck and Ryleigh Hicks recorded one hit each for Leesville.
