The Bastrop Kiwanis Club, whose main goal is to help the community and children, is holding a red beans and rice dinner to raise money to help with school pursuits of Bastrop’s youth.

The dinner, will be held at the Bastrop Municipal Center on Saturday, Mar. 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will include red beans and rice with ground beef and sausage, cornbread, and peach cobbler. The money raised will be used to help community children with athletic and academic pursuits such as scholarships.

The Kiwanis Club held a meeting at China Star Monday, Mar. 5, to discuss the dinner and sale of tickets for the dinner. All Kiwanis Club members are selling them and the cost is $6.00 per plate. Tickets will be on sale until Mar 18. For more information, call 318-547-9979.
