Tractor Supply Co. wants to encourage and support the FFA Bastrop chapter by raising funds to support agricultural grants.

Beginning Friday, Feb. 16, and lasting through Feb. 25, donations will be accepted at the register at Tractor Supply located at 2310 East Madison Ave. in Bastrop.

Assistant manager Brandy Swan said this is an annual event and all proceeds raised go to support FFA, formerly Future Farmers of America, a youth organization.

"The goal is to raise money for Grants for Growing, a high school and agricultural department," Swan said. "We are trying to raise as much as we can and get awareness out."

Donations will support local FFA chapters and will help to make a difference in the community of Bastrop through agricultural projects.

“Through the generosity and assistance of our customers and team members, we are honored to support local FFA chapters across the country through our Grants for Growing program,” said Christi Korzekwa, senior vice president of marketing at Tractor Supply Company. “This initiative not only allows us to invest in the next generation of agricultural leaders, but also the future of agricultural education.”

Since its start in 2016, Grants for Growing has raised more than $1.4 million for the National FFA Organization. The initiative has funded a total of 692 grants supporting projects involving more than 69,000 students.
