The Northeast Louisiana District Livestock Show was held January 31-February 3 in Delhi, La. Once again, Morehouse Parish 4-H had a number of members participate in the show. The following members exhibited in the show: Bailey Willis, Matthew Sistrunk, Charlee Sistrunk, Emilee Oden, Allison Wilmore, Daniel Wilkerson, Matthes Crawford, Kohlson Barton, Garrison Barton, Mary Claire Kinnaird, Macie Stover, Jayden Chapman, Melody Garcia, and Ella Morris. For 10 of them it was their first livestock show to exhibit in. Morehouse had a great representation this year, with at least one entry in every species. The following are just a few of the awards taken home by Morehouse Parish 4-H members. Charlee Sistrunk exhibited the Champion Jersey, Reserve Champion AOB Dairy, and Supreme Champion Dairy. Charlee also won the Junior Dairy Showmanship class and the Junior Premier Exhibitor contest in Dairy. Matthew Sistrunk exhibited the Reserve Champion Jersey. Emilee Oden exhibited the Champion Bantam Hen and Champion Bird of Show. Melody Garcia won the Junior Rabbit Showmanship class. Jayden Chapman won the Junior Broiler Showmanship class. Bailey Willis exhibited the Reserve Champion Commercial Gilt, Champion Southdown Female, Supreme Champion Ewe, Reserve Grand Champion Market Goat, and Champion Louisiana Bred Market Goat. Bailey also won the Senior Goat Showmanship class and the Senior Premier Exhibitor contests in Goat and Lamb. Their hard work and dedication paid off for them.
