A mother and son were arrested after a meeting at Bastrop High School, where the principal was sprayed with pepper spray.

The incident happened Friday, Feb. 2 at approximately 1 p.m.

Sheriff Mike Tubbs said the mother and her son were leaving the meeting with Principal Chris Broussard at the high school. While exiting the meeting the juvenile sprayed the principal in the face with pepper spray and his mother also grabbed the principal.

The student, a 14-year-old juvenile, is currently being held at Green Oaks detention center awaiting a hearing.

He is facing one charge of battery of a school official.

Tracy D. Lang, 904 Louisiana Ln., Bastrop, was arrested for battery of a school teacher.
