The Bastrop High School JAG Student Career Association invited representatives from DG Foods to speak on September 26, 2017. One of the requirements of a JAG student is to attend at least eight guest speaker presentations. The JAG Student Career Association also invited the BHS Seniors to this presentation which was held in the cafeteria.

Students who were 18 and older were given the opportunity to fill out applications and interview with the representatives, with an opportunity of being hired. Lueray Cole, the HR Supervisor has been working on an after school shift which will allow the students to complete the school day with minimal working hours. Students will acquire job skills, earn a weekly pay check and become productive citizens of society while attending school, prior to graduation, prior to going off to college or acquiring job placement elsewhere.
