An informative briefing on church security will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.

Training officers from the Morehouse Sheriff's Department will be there to speak concerning public safety.

Sheriff Mike Tubbs said the briefing is a response to the many churches who have recently called the Sheriff's Office due to concerns over church security.

"The class will be informative and anyone can attend," he said. "It is geared towards church security, but businesses may benefit from hearing the information as well. Church leaders will be able to hear ideas that have been working in other churches. Chief Brian Shoemaker will be giving an informative presentation on church security and there will be questions to follow."

The class is free and open to the public. For more information call the Sheriff's Office at 281.4141.
