New Year's morning, Monday, at around 1 a.m., the Monroe Police Department and the Morehouse Parish Police Department were both notified on a possible kidnapping.

Details are unclear at this time, but according to police reports, Brisco Robinson, 33, held a woman against her will and became violent with the victim.

Morehouse Parish Sheriff Mike Tubbs said according to the record, the victim dialed 9-1-1 and stated Robinson struck her several times, and the officers on duty observed several signs of abuse.

It is documented as to have occurred on Petrus Street in Bastrop.

Robinson was charged with domestic abuse battery, aggravated assault and a terrorism threat, and is currently being held at the Morehouse Parish Jail.

"The Monroe Police Department spoke to our office about furthering this investigation," Tubbs said. "All of my charges stem from Morehouse Parish. There may be additional charges."
